A pregnant LAWMA [Lagos State Waste Management Authority] employee was hit by a petrol tanker yesterday while she was sweeping.
The accident occured at ojota, Lagos road, while the woman Bamidele Kikelomo, was sweeping the inside road of BRT lane,near the pedestrian bridge,PM News report.
The tanker driver had break failure and and was trying to manoeuvre the vehicle when he veered into BRT lane where he crushed the sweeper. The sweepers leg was totally crushed and she has lost alot of blood' said a witness.
The tanker driver tried to escape, but was caught by LASTMAN staff, who handed him over to the police.
Bamidele was rushed to the Lagos State Emergency Center at the old toll gate of Lagos Ibadan expressway,Unfortunately they were unable to save her life.
So sad.
